Get Involved

A few hours, a useful skill or a good idea can make a difference.

There are lots of ways to make a difference, and you don't need to give a huge amount of time.

We're a small, volunteer-led organisation and we're looking for more people to get involved. Whether you can help at an event, share a useful skill, bring us a new idea, help with fundraising or give a few hours from time to time, we'd love to hear from you.

Volunteer with us

Help in a way that fits your time and strengths.

Volunteering can be flexible. For many roles, a few hours a month could be useful. Some help is face-to-face, while some can be done remotely.

We are interested in people who want to contribute practical experience, learn more about a health environment, reconnect with their community or simply give something back. Volunteer opportunities are generally for people aged 18 or over.

Ways you could help

Different skills are useful.

You do not need previous charity experience. We value people who are willing to help, share ideas and work with others.

Events

Help set up, welcome people, support raffles or lend a hand at quiz nights and other local fundraising.

Public-facing help

Talk to people, help us represent the League locally and make it easier for people to find the right support.

IT & data

Bring digital, administrative, spreadsheet, website or data skills that can make a small volunteer organisation run more smoothly.

Networks & signposting

Connect us with useful people, groups, opportunities and community services.

Promotion

Help with posters, photographs, local publicity, social media ideas or sharing stories about our work.

Fundraising ideas

Brainstorm, organise, find prizes, promote events or suggest new ways to raise funds.

Garden help

Practical help with outside garden areas can make healthcare spaces feel more welcoming.

Photos & stories

Help us document projects, events and the people who make local support possible.

Flexible volunteering

Give what you can, when you can.

We know people have work, family and other commitments. The aim is to create useful opportunities that are realistic rather than asking everyone for the same commitment.

A few hours a month, occasional event support or remote help with a particular task can all be valuable.

Fundraise for us

Turn a good idea into local support.

You might organise a quiz, a social event, a sponsored challenge, a stall or something we have not thought of yet. Tell us your idea and we can discuss whether it could work for the League.

Share an idea

Do not be afraid to put an idea forward.

Good community projects often begin with someone noticing an opportunity. If you have an idea for fundraising, volunteering, promotion, local connections or a health and wellbeing project, we would like to hear it.

Businesses & community supporters

Local organisations can help too.

Businesses, community groups and other local organisations can support fundraising, provide event help, promote the League or work with us on shared community goals.
